Ich über mich

Born in 1968, I grew up nearby Berlin. More than 7 years I worked
for the railroad on a tower and changed later to the field of child care
and youth work. When the wall came down, I used the new freedom
to travel to countries where I could apply and improve my language skills. I figured working abroad will have a positive impact on my career. The US haven’t been my “dream country” – I just got the first offer from there. An internship in a residential care facility for youth at risk north of NYC was followed by several stays of working and travelling in the US. The AT I got to know through a 1:1 mentoring project with a youth at risk. It is the perfect tool for troubled youths and of course for anyone else who wants to get the head clear or just likes to “escape” the civilization for a while. My experience and impressions I wish to share with those who feel attracted. I also have seen much more spectacular attractions such as Grand Canyon NP or Niagara Falls. However, the most impressive experience inside, I had on the AT. It’s certainly a kind of pilgrim. Please note: Although this hike might have a spiritual aspect (the monasteries aren’t there by chance) I do not promote any religion or pursue a religious purpose.
